This May, communities across New Hampshire came alive with something powerful, neighbors rolling up their sleeves for neighbors. Granite United Way’s Day of Caring once again proved that when people come together, the impact is extraordinary.
This year, more than 1,500 volunteers completed over 125 projects spanning every corner of our footprint, from the Seacoast to the North Country. They landscaped. They painted. They cleaned up our shorelines, worked alongside seniors, read to children, and helped prepare summer camps for the season ahead.
Day of Caring is New Hampshire’s largest single-day volunteer event, organized annually by Granite United Way. It mobilizes employees, businesses, and community members to provide hands-on support to local nonprofits that depend on volunteer power to complete meaningful wish-list projects throughout the year.
Volunteers this year tackled everything from hands-on outdoor work to one-on-one connection with community members. Projects included:
Each project was matched to a community organization’s specific needs — making sure that volunteer energy went exactly where it could do the most good.
You can view images of volunteers at work from across our regions on Granite United Way’s Facebook page.
Granite United Way’s North Country region is hosting Day of Caring on May 20th.
Day of Caring would not be possible without the generous support of our corporate sponsors, who invest in this community-wide movement year after year.
