Van Driver
Transportation is one of the greatest barriers to adult learners seeking to increase their foundational skills for work, training or college. DALC is thrilled to be able to offer students rides to school, but we can't do it if we don't have drivers. Drivers needed for Tuesday and Thursday mornings 8-9:30 AM and 12:30-2 PM for now. As more drivers are available, more routes will be opened, including evenings and Mondays and Wednesdays.

Manchester Pride: Dunk-A-Queen Booth!
Ever wonder what it's like seeing a drag queen in a dunk tank? Now's your chance to volunteer at a booth where brave drag queens and kings get dunked to raise funds for a great cause. Gear Up for School (GUFS) is seeking volunteers for our Dunk-A-Queen booth at the Manchester Pride Festival. Volunteers will help set up, interact with participants, handle ball returns, and take down. GUFS is raising funds to provide 3,275 backpacks filled with over 90,000 school supplies at the start of the next academic year to children in the NH Foster Care Program, at Veteran Centers, schools in the greater Manchester and Hooksett areas, and non-profits supporting children across New Hampshire.

Back to School Drive (Set-Up)
Gear Up for School (GUFS) is a back-to-school drive that aims to provide 3,275 students in need with more than 90,000 school supplies and backpacks at the start of the academic year. Supplied backpack recipients include children in NH's DHHS Foster Care Program, as well as schools in Manchester, Hooksett, Allenstown, Pembroke, and additional non-profits (including Veteran Centers) across New Hampshire. The setup team will prepare the assembly lines by moving supply boxes (involving some heavy lifting), counting supplies, unboxing and unwrapping the supplies, organizing the assembly lines, and assembling the pencil cases. The work requires a moderate-to-heavy activity level, with some opportunities for volunteers to assist at the less physically demanding check-in table.
